These are some of the extensions that I use on almost every Joomla! website I build. Descriptions are taken from the Joomla! Extension Directory or the extension developer's website. The Bold titles link to the extension's directory page or directly to the dev's site.
With this plugin, you can display your site name in page titles. It’s able to display the site name before or after the content title and use a custom separator. You can specify a different name to use in title, if you want. GREAT FOR ANY WEBSITE!
JoomlaPack is an open-source backup component for the Joomla! CMS, quite a bit different than its competition. Its mission is simple: create a site backup that can be restored on any Joomla!-capable server. Its possibilities: endless It creates a full backup of your site in a single archive. The archive contains all the files, a database snapshot and an installer derived from the standard Joomla! installer. The backup and restore process is AJAX powered to avoid server timeouts, even with huge sites. Alternatively, you can make a backup of only your database. Update Manager
The Update Manager for Joomla! is one of the oldest update managers around having been originally released in January 2006 for Joomla! 1.0 and previously only available as part of the Advanced Tools package. The latest update manager is now available both as part of the Advanced Tools collection or stand alone. GREAT FOR ANY WEBSITE!
Joomap
Joomap is a sitemap component for Joomla that shows the normal Menu Structure, Content Categories, Sections and Virtuemart Categories in a hierarchical tree or a Google Sitemaps list. eXtplorer
eXtplorer is a web-based File Management Component for all your needs. It has a desktop-application-like interface with drag&drop, grid and a directory tree and makes heavy use of the ExtJS Javascript Library. You can use it to access and modify the files and directories on your server via FTP or direct file access. GREAT FOR ANY WEBSITE!
Simple to use plugin that allows you to stream audio files from within your web page. GREAT FOR PODCASTERS!
Disqus Comment System for Joomla!
Disqus, pronounced "discuss", is a service and tool for web comments and discussions. The Disqus comment system can be plugged into any website, blog, or application. Disqus makes commenting easier and more interactive, while connecting websites and commenters across a thriving discussion community.
It currently powers the discussion on thousands of blogs and now with the "Disqus Comment System for Joomla!" plugin by JoomlaWorks it's easy to add Disqus on any Joomla! website or blog! GREAT FOR BLOGGERS!
